The Wallet & Auto-Recharge

How your Noddle wallet balance works and how auto-recharge keeps it funded.

Last updated: August 13, 2026

Usage-based features in Noddle — calls, texts, emails, and AI tools — are paid for out of a wallet: a running balance of pre-loaded funds attached to your account. This article explains how the wallet is drawn down, how auto-recharge keeps it topped up, and what happens if it runs dry. For the actual per-unit rates, see Communication Charges and AI Feature Charges.

How the Wallet Works

Your wallet holds a dollar balance. Every time you or your team uses a metered feature — an outbound call, an SMS segment, an AI-generated response — Noddle deducts the corresponding rate from that balance in real time. There's no invoice to wait on; usage is paid for as it happens, straight out of the wallet.

Auto-Recharge

Auto-recharge keeps the wallet from running out on its own. Once it's set up, Noddle watches the balance in the background and reloads it automatically once it drops too low — no manual top-ups required.

Auto-recharge is built around two settings you control:

  • Recharge threshold — the balance that triggers a reload (e.g., "recharge when the wallet drops below $10").
  • Recharge amount — how much gets added back each time the threshold is hit (e.g., "add $50").

When your balance crosses the threshold, Noddle charges the card on file for the recharge amount and adds it straight to the wallet. This can happen multiple times a billing cycle if usage is high — there's no cap on how often it triggers, only on how low the balance is allowed to get before it fires again.

Setting It Up

  1. Go to Settings > Company Billing.
  2. Open the Wallet section.
  3. Set your recharge threshold and recharge amount.
  4. Confirm the card on file is the one you want charged.

If the Wallet Hits Zero

If the balance reaches zero — for example, if auto-recharge is turned off, or a recharge attempt fails because the card on file was declined — metered features stop working until the wallet is funded again. Non-metered parts of Noddle (your CRM, contacts, pipelines, etc.) aren't affected; it's only usage-based sending and AI features that pause.

Adding Funds Manually

You don't need auto-recharge on to use the wallet — you can top it up by hand at any time:

  1. Go to Settings > Company Billing > Wallet.
  2. Click Add Funds.
  3. Enter an amount and confirm with your card on file.

The funds are available immediately and draw down the same way as an auto-recharge top-up.
