Making & Receiving Calls in Noddle

Make and receive calls in the browser, with routing and missed-call text-back.

Noddle includes a built-in phone system so you can make and receive calls directly from your browser or mobile app.

How It Works

When you provision a phone number in Noddle, that number handles both SMS and calls. Call logs are recorded automatically in the contact's activity timeline.

Making an Outbound Call

  1. Open a contact's card.
  2. Click the phone icon next to their phone number.
  3. A softphone dialer will appear in your browser. Click Call to connect.

Receiving Inbound Calls

When a contact calls your Noddle number, a call notification appears in your browser. Click Answer. Calls are routed to the team member assigned to that number.

Tip: You can forward calls to a personal cell or landline under Settings > Phone System so you never miss a call when you're not logged in.

Call Routing Options

Under Settings > Phone System, configure:

  • Call forwarding — forward to a specific external number
  • Voicemail — set a custom greeting; voicemails are transcribed and stored automatically
  • Call whisper — hear a brief message before connecting (e.g., "Incoming lead from your website")
  • Missed call text-back — automatically send an SMS when a call is missed

Missed Call Text-Back Automation

When a contact calls and no one answers, Noddle can automatically text them back.

  1. Go to Automations > + Create Automation.
  2. Set the trigger to Missed Call.
  3. Add action: Send SMS with a message like: "Hi [first name], sorry we missed your call! We'll get back to you shortly."

This single automation recovers a significant number of leads who would otherwise move on.
