Reading Your Email Campaign Analytics

Read open, click, bounce, and unsubscribe rates — and what healthy looks like.

After sending an email campaign in Noddle, you can see exactly how it performed. Understanding these numbers helps you improve every campaign you send.

Where to Find Campaign Analytics

  1. Go to Marketing > Emails > Campaigns.
  2. Click on any sent campaign.
  3. Open the Statistics or Analytics tab.

Key Metrics Explained

Delivered

The number of emails successfully delivered to recipients' inboxes. If this is significantly lower than your list size, you may have a deliverability issue with your sending domain.

Open Rate

The percentage of delivered emails that were opened. Industry average varies by industry but 20–30% is a reasonable benchmark for most businesses.

Click Rate (CTR)

The percentage of recipients who clicked a link inside the email. Measures how compelling your content and calls-to-action are.

Bounce Rate

Emails that couldn't be delivered:

  • Soft bounce — temporary issue (inbox full, server down); Noddle will retry
  • Hard bounce — permanent issue (email address doesn't exist); these contacts are automatically suppressed from future sends

Unsubscribe Rate

The percentage of recipients who clicked "Unsubscribe." A rate above 0.5% is a signal to review your list quality or message relevance.

Spam Complaints

Contacts who marked your email as spam. Keep this below 0.1%. High spam rates hurt your sending reputation and can get your domain flagged by carriers.

What Good Numbers Look Like

MetricHealthy Range
Open Rate20–35%
Click Rate2–5%
Bounce RateUnder 2%
Unsubscribe RateUnder 0.5%
Spam ComplaintsUnder 0.1%

These are general benchmarks. Your actual numbers will vary by industry and list quality.

Filtering Who Opened or Clicked

After a campaign sends, you can filter your contact list by engagement:

  1. Go to Contacts > + Add Smart List.
  2. Set filter: Email Stats > Opened campaign [Campaign Name].
  3. Save.

This creates a list of everyone who engaged — great for follow-up campaigns targeted at interested contacts.

Improving Your Numbers Over Time

  • Low open rates: Test different subject lines. The subject line is the biggest lever for opens.
  • Low click rates: Make sure your email has one clear call-to-action. Too many links dilutes clicks.
  • High bounces: Clean your list. Remove or re-verify contacts with frequent bounces.
  • High unsubscribes: Check your sending frequency and content relevance. Are you emailing too often or off-topic?
