How to Launch an Email Campaign
Go from a blank template to a sent email campaign, step by step.
An email campaign in Noddle is a one-time broadcast delivered to a defined audience. Here's how to go from a blank page to a sent campaign.
Step 1: Choose or Create a Template
Every campaign starts with a template.
- Go to Marketing > Emails > Templates.
- Click New, then select Email Marketing Templates.
- Browse the template library, preview options, and click Continue to open your chosen template in the Email Builder.
If you already have a saved template, skip to Step 3.
Step 2: Edit Your Template
- In the Email Builder, update your text, images, and layout.
- Click Save Template when done.
- To preview it, click the 3-dot action menu > Test Email, enter sender and recipient details, and click Send Test Email.
Step 3: Create the Campaign
- Go to Marketing > Emails > Campaigns.
- Click New > Select Template, choose your template, and click Continue.
- Alternatively: In the Templates tab, click the 3-dot menu on a template and select Create Campaign.
- Your template opens in campaign mode.
Step 4: Configure & Send
- Click Send or Schedule.
- Configure your options:
- Recipients — select a list, Smart List, or apply contact filters
- Sender name and email address
- Subject line and preview text
- Send time — now or at a scheduled date/time
- Tracking — open tracking, click tracking
- Click Review and Send, confirm your details, and send.
Sending Options
- Send Now — delivers immediately
- Schedule — delivers at a specific date and time you choose
- Batch Send — delivers in timed batches (useful for managing traffic to a landing page or pacing your send)
💡 Always send a test email to yourself before sending to your full list. Check how it looks on both desktop and mobile.
Campaign Statuses
Once sent or scheduled, you'll see a status label next to each campaign:
| Status | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Draft | Created but not yet sent or scheduled. |
| Scheduled | Set to send at a future date and time. |
| Sending | Actively being delivered to recipients. |
| Sent | Delivery is complete. |
| Paused | Stopped mid-send (e.g., a batch send paused manually). |
| Cancelled | Stopped before delivery completed. |
| Failed | An error prevented the campaign from sending. |
If a campaign fails: There's usually an issue with your sending domain or email provider connection. Go to Settings > Email Services to review your configuration, then re-attempt the send.
Editing a scheduled campaign: You can edit or cancel a campaign with Scheduled status — but once it moves to Sending, changes are no longer possible. Go to Marketing > Emails > Campaigns, find the campaign, click the 3-dot menu, and choose Edit or Cancel.
