How to Import Contacts via CSV
Bring contacts from another CRM or spreadsheet into Noddle with a CSV import.
If you're coming from another CRM, email platform, or spreadsheet, you can bring all your contacts into Noddle at once using a CSV import.
Before You Import
- Your file must be in CSV (.csv) format. Excel (.xlsx) and Google Sheets files won't upload directly — export them as CSV first.
- File size limit: 50MB per import.
- During the import process, you can download a sample CSV file to see the correct column format.
Import Steps
- Go to Contacts in the left menu.
- Click the Import icon (a downward arrow pointing into a box, near the top right).
- Select Contacts and click Next.
- Confirm your file format, then upload your CSV.
- Map your columns to Noddle contact fields. For example, your "Email Address" column should map to the Email field.
- If a column doesn't match any standard field, you can create a custom field on the spot, or choose "Don't import data in unmatched columns."
- Fill in import details: give the import a name, assign contacts to a list, and configure consent preferences.
- Click Bulk Import and wait for the process to complete.
Standard Fields Available During Import
- Name / First Name / Last Name
- Email / Additional Emails
- Phone / Additional Phones
- Date of Birth
- Business Name
- Address, City, State, Postal Code, Country
- Contact Source / Contact Type / Contact Owner
- DND (Do Not Disturb) setting
- Time Zone / Website / Notes
After Import: Bulk Actions
Once contacts are imported, you can act on them in bulk:
- Go to Contacts.
- Use filters to narrow your view.
- Check the boxes next to contacts you want to act on.
- Choose a bulk action: Add Tags, Send Email, Add to Automation, etc.
💡 Tip: Tag your imported contacts at the time of import (e.g., "Imported June 2026") so you can easily find and act on them later.
