Bulk Actions for Contacts
Act on many contacts at once — tag, email, enroll, export, or delete.
When you need to do the same thing to a group of contacts at once — send an email, add a tag, start an automation — Noddle's bulk actions let you do it in seconds instead of one by one.
How to Use Bulk Actions
- Go to Contacts.
- (Optional) Apply filters to narrow down your list to the right contacts.
- Check the boxes next to the contacts you want to act on. To select all visible contacts, check the box at the top of the list.
- Choose a bulk action from the action bar that appears.
Available Bulk Actions
| Action | What It Does |
|---|---|
| Add Tags | Applies one or more tags to all selected contacts |
| Remove Tags | Removes a tag from all selected contacts |
| Send Email | Sends a one-off email to selected contacts |
| Send SMS | Sends a text message to selected contacts |
| Add to Automation | Enrolls selected contacts in an Automation |
| Remove from Automation | Removes contacts from a specific Automation |
| Export | Downloads selected contacts as a CSV file |
| Delete | Permanently deletes selected contacts (recoverable within 60 days) |
| Add to List | Adds contacts to a specific list |
Filtering Before Acting
Using filters before selecting contacts ensures you're acting on the right group. For example:
- Filter by Tag = "webinar-registrant" → export those contacts
- Filter by Last Activity > 90 days ago → add to a re-engagement automation
- Filter by Contact Type = "Lead" → send a targeted email campaign
Tips
- Use Smart Lists instead of repeating bulk actions. If you find yourself doing the same bulk action repeatedly on the same group, create a Smart List with those filter conditions and automate the action instead.
- Export before deleting. If you're cleaning up old contacts, export them as a backup first.
- Test with a small group. Before adding 2,000 contacts to an automation, test it with 5–10 first to confirm the flow works as expected.
