Setting Up the Web Chat Widget

Add a chat bubble to your website so visitors can message you directly into your Noddle inbox.

The Web Chat Widget is a small chat bubble that appears on your website and lets visitors start a conversation with you in real time. Every message routes directly into your Noddle Conversations inbox.

Creating a Chat Widget

  1. Go to Sites > Chat Widget in the left menu.
  2. Click + New.
  3. Choose your widget type:
    • All-in-One Chat — lets visitors choose their preferred channel (SMS/Email, Live Chat, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram)
    • SMS / Email Chat — collects the visitor's contact info and routes the message as a lead
    • Live Chat — opens a real-time chat directly in the browser
  4. Give your widget a name.

Customizing Your Widget

With the widget open, you can configure:

  • Widget color — match your brand
  • Chat bubble icon and position — bottom right or bottom left
  • Greeting message — the first message visitors see when the widget opens (e.g., "Hi! How can we help you today?")
  • Team member photo — puts a face to the chat for a personal touch
  • Business hours — show an away message outside your working hours
  • Thank-you message — shown after a visitor submits their message

Installing the Widget on Your Website

Option 1: Embed code

  1. In the widget settings, click Get Code.
  2. Copy the snippet.
  3. Paste it before the closing </body> tag on every page of your website where you want the widget to appear.

Option 2: Direct embed in a Noddle funnel or website

If your website is built inside Noddle (Funnels or Sites), you can add the Chat Widget as a page element directly from the page editor — no code needed.

How It Works for Visitors

When a visitor clicks the chat bubble:

  1. They see your greeting and choose their preferred channel (if using All-in-One).
  2. They type their message and submit their name, email, or phone.
  3. Noddle creates a contact record automatically.
  4. The conversation appears in your Conversations inbox, ready for your team to respond.

If no one is available to respond immediately, the visitor gets a message (configured by you) and your team can follow up as soon as they're back.

Connecting Web Chat to Automations

When a visitor submits a chat widget message, Noddle can trigger an automation — for example, immediately sending them an SMS confirmation or routing the lead to a team member. Set this up using the Customer Replied or Contact Created trigger in Automations.
